Moms kids will love this!

I still don’t understand why there is ‘t a cooking show for kids. I have been teaching kids since I graduated in 2009 and kids are great cooks. They tend to be into it more than many adults I know. So I will dedicate many of my post to kids cooking or kids cooking with their families. Cooking and baking are a great way to bond with your child. It also teaches them so many skills such as math, reading, processing information, the life skill of cooking and so on. To get started I want to give you a simple recipe to start off with that fits our weather, no need for the stove or oven and it will get some veggies into them. When kids do the cooking themselves you’ll be surprised what their willing to eat. Lets’s start off with hummus wraps.

Have your kids help cut up the veggies your putting in the wrap this will get them exciting about using these veggies. If you need to but some cheap plastic butter knives they will work just fine and will be safer. Always use your own discretion Mom knows best.
Hummus spread
1-15 oz cans of chickpeas
1/3 cup fresh lemon juice
1/4 cup tahini
2 cloves garlic
Dash of smoked paprika
1 1/2 tspn celtic sea salt
1/4 cup olive oil

Add all ingredients except oil puree in food processor and add oil slowly until mixture is smooth. Slice up an assortment of veggies here are what me and my kids enjoy. Red & yellow peppers, tomatoes, avocado, shredded carrots, cucumbers & asparagus. I usually set up a “buffet” where we can each walk along the counter with our wrap open on a plate and fill our wraps up with our favorite veggies. We wrap and eat. They love the fact that they made dinner.
